About the Role
Essity is looking for an experienced Distribution Operations Manager who will oversees the day-to-day fulfillment operations of the regional transportation network and the local secondary distribution footprint to achieve the cost-, service- and sustainability-targets for distribution aligned with overall company goals. The role is responsible for implementing the operational plans and procedures in line with global distribution supply stream strategies and regional business unit specific logistics activities.

What You Will Do
- Safeguard efficient distribution operations to achieve agreed cost-, service- and sustainability targets (SPOC for all transportation related topics)
- Follow up and perform analysis of distribution KPIs and costs and decide on actions for improvement
- Leading and developing the regional distribution-team and managing the related regional stakeholders
- Execute Regional network/freight bids to select and contract the appropriate transport- and warehouse providers aligned with the global supply stream strategies
- Manage service-providers (40-80 per region) and the related spend according to the agreed targets on cost, service, innovation, and sustainability
- Initiate corrective-actions with service providers as required including contract management, business reviews and continuous improvement activities
- Perform analytics to simulate cost and service impact for network changes, new go-to-market approaches, new articles, and short-term production moves in the region
- Responsible for distribution costing in the region (Freight costing in SAP, Freight Audit of invoices, Freight settlement and accruals)
- Drive regional implementation of global strategies and procedures for sourcing, planning, settlement, and sustainability in distribution organization
Who You Are
- University degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Transportation, Procurement or in a related field
- 5+ years of business experience within Distribution (Transportation and Fulfilment)
- Comprehensive leadership skills and experiences to lead and further develop the regional distribution team.
- Profound experience in 3PL/carrier management as well as in-depth practical experiences transport sourcing, TCO-concepts, and contract management
- Ability to work in a matrix organization and good business understanding (go-to-market strategies in B2B and B2C)
- Excellent in communication, stakeholder management and ability to drive change management in a matrix
- Good understanding of the source-to-pay process and system technologies
