About the role

As part of the Regional Distribution Management team Italy & Iberia, the Secondary Distribution Warehouse Leader oversees, coordinates, and monitors the activities and performance of Market warehouses located across Northern Italy, ensuring alignment with agreed service levels and cost targets for distribution operations. This role involves managing both an internal team and external logistics service providers to achieve set objectives and ensure strict adherence to established processes. The position reports directly to the Distribution Manager Italy & Iberia and holds responsibility for the operational management of five warehouses throughout Italy as well as the coordination of a team of Coordinators. ​The role is based at the Legnano office, with the possibility to work in hybrid mode.

What you will do:

  • Ensures the efficient management of warehouse operations across the region, maintaining compliance with company standards for safety, quality, and productivity.

  • Monitors the performance of external logistics providers, ensuring alignment with organizational service and cost targets.

  • Works closely with planning, procurement, and customer service teams to deliver an excellent service level to the end customer.

  • Manages a team of warehouse coordinators within the region and serves as the main point of contact for warehouse service providers.

  • Continuously works with the team to improve warehouse provider performance, using regular KPI reviews and joint improvement plans.

  • Conducts regular benchmarking activities, comparing service and cost performance across regions to identify improvement opportunities.

  • Promotes knowledge sharing and ensures its effective transfer within the team.

  • Supports the Distribution Manager in commercial reviews and contributes to strategic projects such as network segmentation and structural changes.

  • Monitors market developments in collaboration with the Distribution team, WHEX team, and Business Unit Logistics, particularly regarding regulatory, technological, and customer demand changes.

Who you are:

  • Proven experience (minimum 5 years) in operational warehouse and logistics management, preferably within structured and complex corporate environments

  • In-depth knowledge of warehouse processes, regulations, policies, and procedures

  • Demonstrated ability in performance monitoring and management of external logistics service providers

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with hands-on experience in using KPIs and operational analysis tools

  • Proficient in standard office tools; experience with SAP, WMS, or TMS systems is considered a plus

  • Excellent communication skills in both Italian and English, written and verbal

  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills, with experience in team management and workforce organization

  • Solid leadership, strong teamwork attitude, and effective stress management

  • Proactive, flexible, and results-oriented mindset, open to change and innovation

  • High-level active listening skills and the ability to manage conflicts in dynamic and cross-functional environments

  • Willingness to travel across the country for operational visits to warehouse sites
